Counter Procrastination and Bad Behaviours

Writing your learning script: Ingraining good and bad behaviours

How to gain more positive skills and unfuck negative mentality (How to level up and train your character part 4)

As a former ABA therapist who is trained and graduated in human behaviour and ABA therapy, psychology.
Rewarding and conditioning good behaviours with desirable rewards can become stale and ineffective.

I.e. Calling our children to table for dinner to be rewarded with foods they like or scolding them if they fail to come when called, does not seem to be winning strategy for obedience nor family time.

As an adult or teenager, we are aware of what makes us unhappy , using pavlov conditioning as an example, we come to realise that we are often stimulated and offered unconscious priming to be accustomed to society, advertising and seek immediate rewards when offered. I.e seeing the sign of MacDonald can make your kid excited, or another example being able to get what you desire when being exposed to an opportunity,…

The blue pill or the red pill? Which will you choose? The New Afterthought episode 16

The rabbit hole of truth and imagination vs the concept of fed truths and the concept of ignorance is bliss.

1. Who conceived the world?
Despite the blaring truths that humans are co-creators, from the way they cook their food, create their job and passion or even their off-spring, there is a concept that god or the unknown is fully responsible for our being i.e. the concept of fate, that we were born to suffer, do the things that inevitably causes us to suffer and that this breaks our identification of agency and believing that physical or temporary bliss is all that there is.
2. As co-creators, who conceive your thoughts? And then, who conceive your ability to perceive and sense your surroundings?  For there are articles out there, that have shown that our visual awareness is more easily deceived than you think, i.e. common visual tricks as which is the shorter line, what sort of grey you perceived, and not knowing a certain shade of colour can make you oblivious to its existence, e…

Is the notion of love just another idea?

For many believe that love is extraordinary, an intuitive spiritual connection.
Love is right, love is good, love does the extraordinary for others

And yet, we dissociate to the evil of love
for the love for god had killed some in the ideas of terrorism, the love of parenting had destroyed marriage, and the love of partnership had destroyed friendships, and the love of family had destroyed dreams.

The truth is love is not an ultimate good.
Love is a belief in an ultimate good.

What makes you certain about this spiritual connection than the warmth and acceptance and familiarity of comfort from the shrewd world outside that had pulled and struck and killed your ideas that you had believed in before?
What makes you walk away from these aggressive ideas such as individuality, autonomy, creativity than those ideas that you had stemmed yourself into, such as traditions, blind faith and loyalty.

Of all mentioned above are positive traits,
but it might be cruel to remind you,
You had once tho…

How to handle life responsibilities: The New Afterthought episode 15

The New Afterthought Thought tool of the day: Picking your boulder from your sack of responsibilities.

Most of us struggle with the adaptations throughout growth, family, friends and work and finding passion, courage and strength in life.
Today, I want you to place down your sack, and have the courage to look into it.

Many of us are often encourage to practice self love: to take a down time to reward and love ourselves.
This is great. However, it does not help deter us from bad and horrible habits that often break us apart from our responsibilities nor help realise our capacity to cope.
I.e. most of us do not want to look into our mess, we want to hurry and rash into a realisation or a completion to avoid the mess that now lingers with us, or represent us in negative ways.

Upon such reflection, it is often scary and bewildering, to handle between growing and realising who we are and what role we play in this world.
We are often taught to keep our mess behind the close doors, venting a…

Are we fated or are we destined? : The New Afterthought Episode 14

Fate versus destiny, do we live for the end or do we live for the process/ the journey?

Welcome back to the thought provoking portal, where you get your weekly dose of brain games and workout and these ain't crossword puzzles.

In this episode; we ponder the question of fate and destiny; a paradox prominent in some of our episodes.

It is key in this podcast that we practice our autonomy and responsibility that ends up being the moral compass of our vessel that leads us not just to the end, but dictates our experiences and waivers our values, dreams and goals and our means of navigations.

Ever since in episode 1, we are provoked to realising that our traits and personality can pan out very differently despite us having similar backgrounds or even similar traits; we carry out with very different instincts, manners and directions, that ends up making our differences without most of our awareness.
Hence the journey begun with us beginning to understand the differences between our insti…

What is Affinity and how does it play into our lives? :The new afterthought episode 13

Today, I am going to explore the concept of a book I had written and published, Affinite: Shared Consciousness and the new world.

Beyond the subtle hints at checking out my published book, I realised that alot of us, have a fixation towards personality types and have a keen affair with spirituality. And yet, we fail to perceive our very natural instincts to like or dislike.

In this episode of the new aftherthought,
We explore
1. Instincts vs habits 2. affinity in destiny and fate 3. Affinity in shared consciousness.
Why do we need to know the differences between our instincts and our habits?
Instincts can be perceived as an urge, a desire, an inkling which usually happens on reflex without too much thoughts.

Similarly, Habits often occur without thinking, except in the initiation phrase, hence we tend to say "old habits die hard", an acknowledgement that sometimes our habits fall out of our hands, and is less of an act of deliberate self-will than a reflex.

Both happens somewh…

Coward vs Hero: It is not just a matter of courage (The New Afterthought episode 12)

An act of faith; what difference does it brood between an act of trust vs an act of faith?
To have faith, is akin to believing in what you practice, in other words a test of conviction.

Today, I want to highlight the misunderstandings between the hero and coward archetype, so that you can gain new insights and awareness of your situational thinking and who you tend to label yourself out to be. i.e. the most common being lazy, demoralised, is that true?
I want you to listen to this podcast and realise how cowards can be equally "sane" and "strong" in making his cowardly decisions and heroes as easily the "cowards" in their own regards and come to realise that your approach to realisation can help you relabel and rediscover yourself.

For most of us, we often look up to our heroes as those who had done the impossible or the things we would not had done for ourselves, such as those who stood up for us, those who fought for equality and various other acts of …

You are not what you think nor feel. You are what you believe. The New Aftherthought episode 11

Good day folks.

The New Aftethought came from a long way, from being thought provoking posts on blogger and instagram, we now have not only listeners who tune in every week, we have also reached over ten episodes in total.

The New Afterthought served to unravel your mind, so that out of all people, you can know what your mind is made of.

We wanted to know more of the Universe, and in return, we knew even more about ourselves.

In episode 1: We realise how our traits and personalities can be "defined the same" in the dictionary, or even, fall into the same personality type, and yet our expression is largely different.
We realise that this is due to our own makings of everyday habits, realisation of the past and the people we are influence by and who and what we interact with.

Why does this happen?

In Episode 2: We explore this concept of universal patterns in our daily interactions by one of the main factors of wellbeing, the mind and body.
We realise due to the large informa…

Realignment of Truths between good and evil through a concept of theatre. Podcast only episode

"Indeed, they confess to taking a pleasure in negating and dissecting and to a certain self-possessed cruelty which knows how to wield the knife with certainty and deftness even when the heart bleeds"

\210 Beyond Good and Evil
Friedrich Nietzsche
In the previous episode, I walk you through models of trying to reframe and rewrite your past with a positive/learning journey/ discovery and then explore some mental concepts such as theory of mind to then understand the nuances of self definition and exploration.
Today, with context to the first episode, I would like to explore the concepts of the Universe that we experience first hand, that is through others and through ourselves.
What do we call our true motivations?
How do we realign our beliefs of rightness and wrongfulness in different context that changes with different place time and people?
How do we seek what's true to us.
Today we explore our life's in snippets as if in a play/movie/ or story, to understand the …

Mental Models of Self -actualisation: Creation of Individuality. The new afterthought episode 8

Mental Models of Self -actualisation: Illusions of Details and Objectivity: Creation of Individuality. The new afterthought episode 8
Many of us heard the Illusion of Choices?

The illusion of choices exude from the illusions of control and free-will.
In terms of fate and destiny and the execution of decision-making and making decisions.
Hobson's choice and Morton's Fork and theory of mind.
These are equally mind boggling conundrums that revolves around the futile helplessness between the vulnerabilities of choices.

"take it or leave it"
"damned if I do, Damned If I don't"

In this podcast episode, we praise fate as if with the love of amor fati, and hope to wield the warrior's sword towards one's own decisions and path.

Self actualisation, lies not just in decision making and creating oneself but also self realisation.

Theory of mind is the ability to recognise that other people's mental states may differ from one's own.
Using their Point of view…

How to write your life story: Rewriting the past and the transition through the present to the future episode 7

As the mind and body ages, we look not just from a different height and perspectives,  we have accumulated thoughts, exchange opinions, and dissected it into tiny bite size information to integrate into ourselves, from the clothes that we pick, to the world that we interact with.
There is a large disparity between the past and the present and the future.
If we look through the looking glass, and pick at the minute little things to nitpick and makeshift memories, we believe in flaws that begun as an illusion of the details.
Memories are flawed, and the focus of the viewfinder flares, and we burn it into our mind, the most engraved memories, and the synapses we used most often.

When such memories, interpretation and conception had been breeding into the minds like witches' brew, we drink up potions made to enhance different traits of ours.
As mentioned in the first episode, I hinted at our differences that were not so different at all.
How we all could live at the very same place an…

Feeling lost growing up alone: How to find yourself and realign.

Change is not just a destruction of the former selves, Change is an anulment of past habits with intentional Change, Change is a completion of a self identity.

Losing one's pupose while attaining it can make one feel lost.
For example, a young child who looks up to his parents, follows their parents' ways and then feel lost and devoid of meaning while following these same footsteps that are pivoted to be a better good and a better guide of the previous generation.

Despite having a path to follow, the wilderness and inhabitations beaten down, smoothed out and rolled over, we, the new generations of human being, have attained a new level of consciousness that can bewilder our path despite having an easier way out.

Having a comparison and path to follow, have been a traditional norm.
With increased economy from Globalisation, and an increased diffusion of Ethnics and Culture, our minds are bend and made to expand to accept and inevitably create more differences.

There seemed to …
