Rewarding and conditioning good behaviours with desirable rewards can become stale and ineffective.

I.e. Calling our children to table for dinner to be rewarded with foods they like or scolding them if they fail to come when called, does not seem to be winning strategy for obedience nor family time.

As an adult or teenager, we are aware of what makes us unhappy , using pavlov conditioning as an example, we come to realise that we are often stimulated and offered unconscious priming to be accustomed to society, advertising and seek immediate rewards when offered. Japan 2019 vs Japan 2017 Osaka and Tokyo: Are there real changes? (Sushi, ramen, shopping and shrines)

Tokyo could be covered within one or two days if you wish to cover the popular places, such as ikekuburo, tokyo, harajuku and all the popular shopping districts.
There are mini towns to visit along towards your destinations that mimics each other but brings a distinct flavor.

Shop + Eat +Travel?
It would be good to plan ahead so you could carry on your travels forward from Tokyo and hike the pretty mountains. If all you desire are pretty lights and good food, a short trip there is shibarashi.

To go or not to go?
Go if you had yet to visit the place, visit the golden temple and take a photo with meiji man.
